We are home

We are home from Mexico. What a great time. We spent 4 days driving and 5 days ministering. Well worth it.

Saturday we arrived in San Luis at the Caring Hearts ran Bethel Orphanage. It is a small piece of paradise in a very impoverished city. They have excellent facilities that they use to house around 30 kids that are something in between orphans and foster kids. They also host teams. The kids, ours, the Haile's, the Norem's, all had a great time playing with the children their. It is really a great place to be housed and based. They regularly host teams that minister both in the orphanage and the community. I will post more pics and talk about some of the other ministry over the rest of the week.

Viva la Mexico

We are leaving Friday morning. 1 week in San Luis Mexico working with Caring Hearts and Aquas Vivas. Caring hearts runs an orphanage, boys home, soup kitchen and is involved with many other ministries in the community. Aquas Vivas is a conservative Baptist church in Tobasco Mexico, a small agricultural town. We will be going as a family. We will minister through construction, dramas and street evangelism, food and clothing distribution. Pray for our journey and many open doors as we are there.

Our Blog

I am working to make our blog better and more informative without being overwhelming. If you have any suggestions or helpful tips it would be appreciated. We really desire to be good at communication and want your help growing in that.

Thanks,

Ben

Faith

It is so cool how God builds our faith. Support raising is a scary over whelming idea that makes you wonder if it can be at all spiritual. You start to stress and take it on yourself to market your ministry and your call. I love the way God brings people along to tell you he can get it done. We have had people come out of the blue and support us or ask about it in the last couple weeks. We still have a responsibility to communicate with people but it is through faith that we can obey the Lord. This week I have absolute confidence that God will get us there. I told my mom tonight I don't have the money but God does. Get on facebook and someone asks how to donate. God is so cool.

We are so excited.

Today we found out we are excepted with Shepherd's Staff, a missions board we applied with. We still have some details to work out and paperwork to sign but it is a huge hurtle that feels good to clear. We are excited to see what God is doing in our lives. What makes it even more exciting is seeing how much God is doing in our church right now and how we are a part of that. It would be exciting enough to be going into missions in the service of our king, but how much more to see God moving in a body and doing mighty things in it's people and those we touch.

We are praying with our leadership and looking to do a training program with Shepherd's Staff this July. It lasts two weeks and is good final preparation heading to the field. We plan to go from there to Brazil where we will do language training and begin interning under established church planters. We are working on turning our overall vision and short term plans into our elder's to get their help establishing a plan to become church planters ourselves one day. I guess we will be church planters right away just under current pastors. We want to start in Sao Paulo Brazil and spend some time in Iguacu Falls Brazil. Eventually we want to do a school of frontier missions with YWAM(Youth With A Mission) as our long term goals are to plant churches where others have not gone.

There is so much work to do in a short time. Be praying for us and be praying about if God would have you partner with us. It is for His glory we will obey and go, and it would be for His glory that you might obey and support us. He is the reason we live.

God is an amazing God. I have longed to be a missionary since I was 11 years old and here we are closing in on it 22 years later. He is so good.

Praying and waiting and waiting....

It seems time has flew bye since are trip from Brazil. Ben's been attending Cornerstone's School of Ministry, and Ive been working at the school subbing and doing many other things to make a little money. God has been so amazing these months(He's always amazing) guiding and preparing us for His ministry. We been so blessed bye numerous people around us simply by asking us about Brazil, to prayer and helping with our physical needs. We appreciate everyone so much for there support.
Its January and we have been praying and asking God for direction for our family, its exciting being a family and waiting on the Lord for direction but it can also be a little hard. The kids amaze me daily at there attitudes towards leaving everything they have ever known, to a world unknown. Our prayer time is so sweet, just to see there hearts for the lost and there questions about the future. I pray for them and ask you to join me. To prepare there hearts and to help Ben and I to be parents first. As a family I want to know Gods heart for Brazil and how our family can be used to glorify and bring honor to such an wonderful God!!!!
